For the last year or so I have been contributing a weekly doodle to the garden blog A Way to Garden - which is written by my good friend Margaret Roach. Whilst Margaret and I have never met face to face, we have shared our daily lives through email and Skype. We talk, as good friends do, about the weather, the drama of life, and everything in between. The one thing we have never really talked about is Margaret's inspiring move from 'successful career' to something deeper that feeds the soul. In Margarets own words:
'On the last day of 2007, I made the life-altering decision to walk away from New York City and my job as EVP/Editorial Director of Martha Stewart, a career many would describe as highly successful. But I craved completely different rewards: solitude, a return to the personal creativity of writing, and a closer connection to nature and my first passion, the garden I had been making on weekends for 20 years.'
Since I began writing my blog. Learned to love/like who I really am. Amazing people have entered my life. Margaret Roach is one of them. I cannot wait to read her journey. You can find out more about Margaret's forthcoming book here: And I Shall Have Some Peace There
