We found him via a pit bull rescue site. Male pit bull. 12 months old. Blind in one eye - will go blind in his other eye within the next six to twelve months due to the glaucoma that was not treated soon enough.
Apparently his original owners had decided to have him euthanized due to the medical costs of his condition. But the receptionists at his local vets had joined together and offered to adopt him and to find him a new home. How amazing is that? Despite the stigma attached to pit bulls there are people out there that just see a dog. Not a pit bull. But a good dog that needs help. My wife and I were very moved by the receptionists kindness and so we emailed them for more details. Kelly, the receptionist he was now staying with, had placed the courtesy listing on the pit bull site. "He's such a good dog" she responded. "Such a good soul".
Two weeks later Kelly, who had by some twist of fate been planning a 3 hour trip to Lincoln Nebraska to see a friend, was standing at our front door. The moment I saw him. Felt his soul. I knew.
We decided to call him Little Man.
Oh, he's a good boy. And lovely. And I wish the best for all of you.

Great to hear he has found a loving home! If only more people would show some more empathy. He looks adorable. :)

Rowdi looks so cute in these photos. I'd like to let her meet our opldoes, but since they're all miniature opldoes, I don't think they'd live very long. They're kinda like the pit bull version of chicken wings, tasty but still leave you hungry 'cause there just ain't much meat on em.
