‘I’m leaving’ said The Fear, dragging his suitcase into the hallway.
‘Does this mean I shall be fear-less?’ I asked.
‘Not quite’ said The Fear, ‘Apprehension has decided to stay’.
I smiled, wished The Fear well, and watched him nervously open my front door.
‘Maybe see you again’ he almost smiled, as he headed for the waiting taxi.
‘Maybe’ I said, not wishing to be rude. And then he was gone. I closed the door, took a deep breath, and smiled [apprehensively].
I have just belly-laughed for a good 20 seconds alone in my office after reading that post.
Thank you, and have a good weekend.

where's he gone?
he's not coming here is he?
I'm locking me doors!
(apprehensively)

He's the sort of friend who doesn't like having other people around.

Bye, fear! Don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way out!
Now... work on apprehension. I'm sure you can him to leave it you work at it...

This isn't as perceptive a comment as those I normally try and post - well, it is Saturday morning. But I read this post and then remembered that, of course, one of my eternally favourite songs is Doves' 'There Goes The Fear'. I love the sentiment of it, the ideas behind it, even if I can rarely bring them to life.

actually, the post is really about my final therapy session [friday] and how I feel The Fear has gone, and I'm gonna be okay ... [just a bit scared sometimes]

If only I could manage to get fear to walk out of my life.
Posted by: Teller | April 22, 2006 at 04:48 AM
Teller - I am still apprehensive - still shy - still nervous - but I'm no longer too afraid to even try.

When you realise that fear can't really hurt you, he says 'Oh' and get's his coat. Nice post.

Very cool Andre. I'm glad for you. Thanks for the laugh...you are hilarious sometimes, even when you are telling a sincere story. Quite a talent! Have a terrific weekend!

Guyana Gyal - positive vibes are lovely, thank you, but what I really want is a busty-blonde-angel sent by God ... now that would be magic.
